Thanks for the video. It helps. I have a pump at the cottage that wont shut off. The pressure builds up....to about 60, then pump keeps running. The switch is identical to the one in your video. I will be going to cottage soon, so I have some questions. - what size tubing do I buy from Home Depot, that goes from pump to switch? Is it? just regular 1/4 plumbing tubing? How do I know which switch to buy - 20/40? 30/50? How do I clean the nozzle at the pump end and switch end? Toothpick? Thanks!

@beatjugglez I've also had this happen when somehow an air bubble gets into the? tank. The tank needs to be drained at the tank. One symptom was the water pressure needle made large sweeps. The motor would turn off and on every 5-10 seconds.

Perhaps there is a difference I am unaware of however upon looking on? the front plastic portion of the Square D switch I have on my pump and the ones on the shelf, below the terminal screws I see L1 & L2 designations on the two outer most terminals and the two inner terminal screws as T-1 (Line-Out to the pump motor). This is verifiable with a visual inspection where you can see where the contacts are connected or with a meter that detects conductivity when the contacts are closed.

@beatjugglez Your ...
@beatjugglez Your pressure tank is waterlogged, it needs to have air in it, can't be all water. Need to charge the? tank, as needed. Could be a bad tank or baffle in the tank.

Dispatcher Bob, you ...
Dispatcher Bob, you are the Man!! Thanks for the informative video. I do want to know if you can answer a question I have? My pump runs constantly,? I have a Flotec 82 gal pre charge tank. The pressure gauge appears stuck beyond 100psi, whether the pump is on or off. I knock the tank and it sounds different at the bottom than the top. I think the diaphragm is ok. Do you think the pressure switch is faulty?
